SAN DIEGO – Men’s golf (284-286-276–846) shot 12-under, boosting themselves three places to finish in fourth at the Lamkin Invitational at San Diego Country Club.

Simon Kwon tallied his second top three finish of the season after he shot 68-70-66–204 throughout the event. The junior made three eagles throughout the competition, the sixth-most out of any player in the field.

Zac Jones (72-73-68–213) shot 4-under today, highlighted by a hole 14 eagle and three birdies in a row on holes 10, 11 and 12. Jones finished tied for 22nd.

Junior Tyson Shelley (70-71-74–215) finished the competition 1-under to tie for 33rd.

After making a hole-in-one on the 11th hole, Ponich was able to move himself up the ranks of the individual competition. Ponich carded rounds of 77-72-70–219 to finish tied for 51st.

Peter Kim finished tied for 70th and Kevin Wu, who was competing as an individual, finished tied for 66th.

The Cougars return to play from Mar. 24-25 for the Bridgestone Collegiate in Napa Valley, California at Silverado Resort.
