THE COUGARS. No. 22 Arizona snapped BYU’s three-meet winning streak, beating the Cougars 196.775-195.800. BYU’s highest event total of the night was a 49.075 on floor, led by Sophie Dudley’s 9.850 and Heidi Schooley-Meyers’ 9.825. Eaquinto and Kirkham led on vault with a pair of 9.850’s, and Kirkham led on bars with a 9.825. BYU’s beam rotation was led by Hoke and Brynlee Andersen who notched a pair of 9.850’s.
THE GOLDEN BEARS. No. 6 Cal is on an eight-meet winning streak. With a perfect 6-0 ACC record, the Bears have now gone undefeated in back-to-back seasons and in two different conferences. They last competed at Alabama’s “Elevate the Stage” quad meet, taking home first place with a final score of 197.200. Cal beat No. 8 Michigan State, No. 14 Alabama and No. 24 North Carolina to take home the win.
THE SUN DEVILS. No. 26 ASU last competed at No. 18 Denver, falling to the Pioneers 196.700-195.575. The Sun Devils scored a 49.125 on bars, their lone event to surpass 49 in the competition. Junior Kimberly Smith earned a career-high 9.925 on bars to tie for first on the event and win the title. Graduate Emily White scored a 39.425 in the all-around.
THE HUSKIES. No. 37 Washington last competed against No. 5 Utah, falling to the Utes 197.225-195.875. The Huskies improved their bars score with the help of four sticks, earning an event total of 48.800. Kristin Lin scored a career-high 9.8 on beam and 9.850 on floor. The GymDawgs finished their senior day celebration with a meet-high 49.250 on floor, courtesy of five scores above 9.825.
