NEW ORLEANS — Diljeet Taylor and Lexy Halladay-Lowry earned Mountain Region honors for the 2025 indoor track and field season, the USTFCCCA announced Thursday.
Mountain Region Women's Assistant Coach of the Year: Diljeet Taylor
Taylor earns her fourth straight USTFCCCA Mountain Region Women's Assistant Coach of the Year honor and the fifth of her career at BYU after winning the award in 2017, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
This season, Taylor coached the DMR team of Jenna Hutchins, Sami Oblad, Tessa Buswell and Riley Chamberlain to a national championship and an NCAA indoor championship meet record of 10:45.34. The national title in the DMR is the third for the Cougars in the past five seasons as Sadie Sargent, Sami Oblad, Carlee Hansen and Riley Chamberlain carried the baton to a title in 2024 and Courtney Wayment, Olivia Hoj-Simister, Lauren Ellsworth-Barnes and Alena Ellsworth in 2021. Taylor has led the BYU distance women to seven nationals titles since she joined the program in 2016.
She also coached Halladay-Lowry to First Team All-America honors in the 5000-meters and 3000m, Meghan Hunter to Second Team All-America honors in the 800m, Chamberlain to Second Team honors in the 3000m and Carmen Alder to Second Team honors in the mile.
"Coach Taylor loves us so much and it shows," said Chamberlain. "She watches us put in the work everyday, and she puts so much work and effort into us."
