Wally Thayne and Zach Fuchs were honored as the seniors on the team for their last match. They have totaled ten wins in their doubles season this year and earned the rank of No. 34 in the nation. Despite their doubles team losing today, both players fought hard for their singles matches.
In both matches, they went down early, dropping the first sets, 6-4. Both controlled the second sets behind great play. After losing the first set, Thayne won nine straight games to take the second set and a lead in the third. He maintained control and earned a ranked win, securing a point for the team. Fuchs' third set was neck and neck throughout, including a service game that he went down 40-0 and won four straight to secure. It ended in a tiebreak where Jarvis got up early, and Fuchs was not able to reverse the momentum, losing 7-3 and ending the match.
