OGDEN, Utah – BYU track and field picked up three event wins in the men's sprints group Friday at the Weber State Spring Classic.
"I’m happy with how the guys did today," said sprints coach Kyle Grossarth. "This was a good opportunity for them to run some individual events after Texas Relays. Eli [Hazlett] looked strong in the 400-meter, and it was exciting for Ty [Oustrich] to break 47 seconds for the first time."
Draper clocked 10.60 across the finish line to take the overall top-placement. The outing marks his third meet since being sidelined due to injury for the majority of the 2024 outdoor season and entirety of the 2025 indoor season.
"After dealing with some serious injuries for most of this year, I’m really grateful to be running consistently and healthy," said Draper. "I trust coach Kyle’s training and I believe that it’s only a matter of time before I get back to running the fast times that I have been looking forward to."
Eli Hazlett took the 400m individual title in 46.38. Hazlett was just shy of his personal best in the outdoor event which is a 46.27 finishing time.
Senior Riley Hunt took home the 110m hurdle crown with a 14.15 finish. Hunt holds the school record in the event with a 13.70 time.
The throw's group was headlined by Peyton Williams who secured a 50.72m/166-4.75 mark in the discus throw.
