PROVO, Utah — BYU men’s and women’s track and field is set to compete at four meets throughout Southern California April 16-19.

Bryan Clay Invitational

Men's Preview

The men's distance crew comes into the Bryan Clay Invitational with recent sucess in the 5000-meter and 3000-meter steeplechase. James Corrigan posted a 13:27.39 outing just a few weeks prior in the 5000m, while Isaac Hedngren ran 8:32.86 in the 3000m steeplechase. 

The men's sprints group saw multiple event wins at the Weber State and Utah Spring Classic Invitationals this past weekend. Senior sprinter Eli Hazlett won the 400m at the Weber State meet with a 46.38 finishing time. 

The men's throws group features three headliners in Danny Bryant, Tyler Poole and Peyton Williams. Poole and Williams both head into the meet after competing at the Weber State and Utah Invitationals a week prior. Williams earned a third-place finish in the discus throw with a 16.47m/54-0.5 mark at the Utah meet. 

The men's jumps/multi's group has seen Ben Barton lead the charge. Barton placed second overall in the men's heptathlon this past indoor season at the 2025 Big 12 Championships with 5944 points. 

Women's Preview

BYU women's distance will be led by Lexy Halladay-Lowry at the Bryan Clay Invitational. The five-time track and field First Team All-American will race the 5000m. Teammate Jenna Hutchins will run her first 10,000m of the 2025 outdoor season. The junior from Johnson City, Tennessee placed sixth in the event at the 2024 outdoor championships. 

Sami Oblad will run her first 400m of the outdoor season April 19 at the Mt. SAC Relays. The senior from Stansbury Park, Utah will look to improve her outdoor school record of 52.35 in the event. 

Gretchen Hoekstre will lead the throws group as she will throw the shot put and discus at both the Mt. SAC Relays and Pacific Coast Invitational. 

Senior pole vaulters Rebekah Erikson and Maren Garnett will compete at both the Pacific Coast and Beach Invitationals. Erikson is No. 1 all-time at BYU in the event with a 4.31m/14-1.75 jump and Garnett is tied for No. 2 with a 4.30m/14-1.25 clearance.
