PROVO, Utah — BYU men's volleyball is set to host conference opponent Stanford University in a top-15 matchup in the Smith Fieldhouse this week on Thursday, April 3 and Friday, April 4.
COUGARS (15-7, 3-3 MPSF)
The Cougars dropped one spot last week to No. 7 in the 2025 AVCA National Collegiate MVB Poll. Overall, BYU has been ranked in the top-10 since February 6, 2023 for a total of 41 consecutive weeks in a row.
BYU most recently split matches against GCU on the road March 21-22, defeating the Lopes in four sets and dropping a three-set match the following day. Outside hitter Luke Benson led the Cougars offensively with 23 kills and three aces while middle blocker Teon Taylor led with eight total blocks.
THE CARDINAL (9-10, 2-4 MPSF)
Stanford got back in the win column last week, picking up its first two MPSF wins of the year by sweeping Menlo College in back-to-back matches at home. Stanford hit a combined .355 as a team, including a .395 clip on Saturday - its second-highest team hitting percentage of the season.
COUGARS VS THE CARDINAL
The No. 7 Cougars are facing Stanford in their second-to-last homestand of the regular season. The Cougars split games against Stanford last season, and hold the overall series record 33-17.
