PROVO, Utah — Fresh off a series sweep of in-state foe Utah, BYU softball heads to Waco for its first-ever games at Baylor this week.
The Cougars (29-12, 11-7 Big 12) are on a season-high five-game win streak for the fourth time in 2025 as they travel to the state of Texas for the second time this season.
Due to inclement weather in the Waco area, the series opener has been moved back to 8 p.m. MDT from its originally scheduled 6:30 p.m. first pitch.

BYU went 4-0 last week, its first undefeated week since a series sweep at Houston in week seven, the second week of Big 12 play. The Cougars beat Fresno State, 7-4, before earning a series sweep of the Utes in dramatic fashion.
Trailing 13-9 in the bottom of the seventh in game one, BYU plated four runs to tie the contest and send it into extras, backed by homers from Ilove'a Brittingham and Lindy Milkowski. After halting a two on-one out effort by Utah in the top of the eighth, the Cougars quickly loaded the bases in the home half before Lily Owens delivered the game-winner on an 0-1 pitch for the 14-13 extra-inning win.
Game two featured a 2-1 score after the opening frame that remained such through six innings. The Utes batted around their order and put up a six spot in the seventh to take a commanding 8-1 lead. BYU batted around the order as well, scoring four runs before ever recording an out.
Then within one, at 8-7, and with just one out, the Cougars had runners on the corners for Aleia Agbayani, who smacked a full-count shot to center field, completing a seven-run comeback and nine-run inning for BYU with a walk-off three-run home run, 10-8.
The Cougars closed out the series with a 14-5 walk-off run-rule win in game three, out-hitting Utah 13 to seven with home runs from Owens, Keila Kamoku and the game-clinching two-run jack by Tristen Turlington.
Kamoku was dubbed the Big 12 Player of the Week after tallying three RBI in each game of the series, finishing with a .667 batting average and 1.167 slugging percentage. The senior infielder went 8-for-12 at the plate, scoring five runs, two on home runs, and drawing one walk.
The first Cougar to receive a weekly conference honor this season, Kamoku was one of seven BYU batters to hit .300 or better in the series, and one of 10 to do so on the week.
Making their second trip to Texas in 2025, the Cougars look to extend their season-long win streak at a venue the team has never played at in program history.
Baylor (23-23, 8-10 Big 12)
- BYU leads the all-time series, 5-4, but has lost the last three meetings.
- Each team has one sweep in series history. The Bears swept the Cougars in Provo last year, picking up a Thursday doubleheader win, 8-7 and 12-9, before a 14-4 run-rule victory on BYU's senior night the following day.
