INDIANAPOLIS – The Cougars have been selected to compete as a No. 9 seed in the NCAA Charlottesville Regional at Birdwood Golf Course from May 5-7, the NCAA announced on Wednesday afternoon.

"We are excited to head to Virginia to compete at the Charlottesville Regional," head coach Carrie Roberts said. "I'm so proud of the girls and the hard work they have put in this year. It's always good to hear your name called, and we will do our part to be ready to compete at our best.

BYU will face off against South Carolina, Virginia, Ole Miss, Florida, UCLA, UCF, Charleston, NC State, Princeton, Richmond and Radford.

The Charlottesville Regional is one of six 54-hole regionals that will determine the 30-team field for the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship at Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, California from May 16-21. BYU has been to the NCAA Regionals 27 times advancing to the NCAA National Championship seven times.

Birdwood Golf Course is a 6,320-yard, par 71 course northwest of Charlottesville, just 1.2 miles from Virginia’s campus.
