PROVO, Utah – Coming off its first Sweet 16 appearance since 2011, BYU head men's basketball coach Kevin Young has announced the addition of Dominique Diomande to the 2025-26 roster.

“We’re thrilled to add Dominque to our team,” Young said. “He brings a unique level of speed and athleticism that will help us compete in the Big 12. He’s an elite-level defender who can guard multiple positions. Offensively, he fits in well with the way that we play. We’re excited to get him on campus and get to work.”

Diomande comes to Provo after spending last season with Washington, where he redshirted after joining the Huskies in December.

The native of Tours, France is no stranger to high-level basketball, having appeared in 14 games for ADA Blois senior team in 2023-24, including a six-point performance in a win over JL Bourg. He also played for the U21 side, averaging 16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.8 steals per game, while shooting 51.9 percent from the field.

The 6-foot-7 forward brings international experience to the roster, having represented Ivory Coast at the youth and senior levels. He appeared in three games for Les Elephants during the 2023 FIBA World Cup qualification.

In five games at the 2021 FIBA African U16 African Championships, Diomande averaged 21.2 points and 12.0 rebounds per game. He had three double-doubles in the group stages, including a 34-point, 23-rebound performance in a 110-57 win over Gabon.
