INDIANAPOLIS — BYU sophomore beam standout Brynlee Andersen qualified to advance to compete in the 2025 National Collegiate Women’s Gymnastics Championships.
After scoring a 9.9 on beam at the Utah Regional, Andersen qualified along with three other gymnasts to compete at Nationals on the balance beam.
With an NQS of 9.905 and a national ranking of 24th, the Orem, Utah native will be BYU’s first individual to qualify for national competition since 2021. She will be BYU’s lone individual competitor at the championship.
The championships, hosted by Texas Woman's University and Knight Eady, will be held at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, April 17 to 19.
The women’s gymnastics championships will consist of eight teams, as well as four all-around competitors and 16 event specialists who were not members of a qualifying team.
The top two teams from each of the four regionals have advanced to the national championships. In addition, the top all-around competitor and the top finisher on each event from each regional have also advanced to the national championships. The top two teams from the Alabama and Washington regionals will compete in the first semifinal and the top two teams from the Pennsylvania and Utah regionals will compete in the second semifinal.
Team semifinal and individual competition will be conducted in two sessions Thursday, April 17, at 4:30 and 9 p.m. ET. The top two teams from each semifinal will advance to the championship final competition Saturday, April 19, at 4 p.m. ET. Both semifinals will be broadcast live on ESPN2, and championship final competition will be broadcast live on ABC.
