PROVO, Utah – In a press conference at the Marriott Center Annex on Tuesday morning, BYU’s Egor Demin announced that he will declare for the 2025 NBA Draft.

“I'm super excited to announce that I will be putting my name in the 2025 NBA Draft," Demin said. “It's another challenge that I'm willing to take, and I'm not scared of any troubles that I could meet at this path. And, thank you to these guys next to me, and my teammates, my coaches, for just being there for me at this moment.”

Demin helped lead the Cougars to their first Sweet 16 since 2011 as the 6-foot-9 guard averaged 13.7 points, 5.7 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game. He became just the ninth freshman in NCAA Tournament history to have at least 10 points, eight assists and eight rebounds in a game in BYU’s win over Wisconsin in the Round of 32.

The native of Moscow, Russia earned Honorable Mention All-Big 12 and Big 12 All-Freshman team accolades after averaging 10.6 points and 5.5 assists per game, helping the Cougars finish third in league play after being voted ninth in the preseason poll. His 180 assists broke Danny Ainge’s program freshman record and were the second-most of any first-year player in NCAA Division I men’s basketball in 2024-25.

He is one of four freshmen in program history with multiple games with 10 or more assists, including an 18-point, 11-assist double-double in his collegiate debut against Central Arkansas.

The 2025 NBA Draft will be held on June 25-26 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
