IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced its 2025 Winter Academic All-Big 12 Team on Monday afternoon. The Cougars tied for the third-most of any men’s basketball program in the league with six.

To qualify for this accomplishment, these student-athletes had to maintain a 3.20 GPA or higher, eighter cumulatively or from two previous semesters, and must have participated in 20 percent of the team’s scheduled contests.

Richie Saunders, Trevin Knell, Trey Stewart, Fousseyni Traore and Dallin Hall earned academic all-conference honors for a second consecutive season while Dawson Baker was named to the list for a first time.

The Cougars finished the 2024-25 season ranked No. 13 in the AP Poll after advancing to the Sweet 16 for a third time in program history and first time since 2011. Under first-year head coach Kevin Young, BYU went 26-10 overall and 14-6 in Big 12 play including ranked wins over Kansas, Arizona and Iowa State.
