IRVING, Texas - The Big 12 Conference announced the conference scheduling matrix for the 2025-26 men's basketball season on Thursday morning.

BYU will play an 18-game conference schedule, including a home-and-home with three schools, while facing the remaining 12 teams once. Of the single-game opponents, BYU will play six at home and six on the road.

Opponents were selected to best balance the schedule in terms of travel and competitiveness. A full Big 12 scheudle will be released at a later date.

Kevin Young is coming off the best debut season by any head coach in program history after leading the Cougars to a Sweet 16 appearance in 2024-25. BYU went 26-10 overall, 14-6 in Big 12 and advanced past the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament for just the third time in program history and first since 2011. The Cougars ended the regular season on an eight-game win streak that included ranked wins over Kansas, Iowa State and Arizona, with the wins over the Cyclones and Wilcats coming away from the Marriott Center.

Under Young's tutelage, Richie Saunders was named the league's Most Improved Player after leading the team in scoring at 16.5 points per game. The junior also earned First Team All-Big 12 accolades after shooting 51.8 percent from the field, 43.2 percent from three and 83.5 percent from the free throw line.
