COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – Incoming freshman Corbin Batista and the U.S. Boys U19 National Team defeated Mexico to win the gold medal at the 2025 NORCECA U19 Pan American Cup on Sunday night in Cuernavaca, Mexico.

After only dropping its first set of the tournament, the U.S. ran off to secure 15 consecutive set wins.

Batista produced 15 kills in the cup, helping the U.S. to go undefeated in the tournament to beat Venezuela, Canada (twice), Puerto Rico and Mexico. Batista also was the lead scorer in a match againt Canada on July 9 to secure a 3-0 (25-20, 27-25, 25-17) win.

Batista is one of six members in BYU's 2025 signing class, including Evan Olmstead, Max Philipe, Layton Bluth, Tyler Johnson and AVCA Boys High School All-American Trey Thornton.
