GREENWOOD, Indiana – Trey Jackson, Casey Clinger, Ben Barton, and Joey Nokes were each honored as College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-Americans, the conference announced Wednesday.

To qualify, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must hold a GPA of at least 3.50 and rank in the top 50 at the 2025 NCAA Regionals or in a Track and Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS) regional event. Relay marks may support but not determine eligibility.

BYU topped the charts with four Academic All-Americans, more than any other university this year.

Jackson became just the seventh BYU men’s track and field athlete to earn a First Team Academic All-America spot. He holds a 3.90 GPA in Information Systems. Earlier this year, he set the No. 1 all-time BYU mark in the indoor 400m at the 2025 Don Kirby Elite, clocking in at 46.12. The senior was named a First Team All-American after running a 46.34 in the 400m at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships, placing eighth.

Clinger earned a Second Team Academic All-America spot, making him the third BYU track and field athlete to earn multiple Academic All-America honors, joining Connor Mantz and Miles Batty. He is studying Business Administration with a GPA of 3.85. Earlier this year, he broke the BYU record in the outdoor 10,000m, surpassing a 40-year-old mark set by current BYU head coach Ed Eyestone in 1985. He finished in 27:11.00, beating Eyestone’s time by 30 seconds. Clinger qualified for Second Team All-America honors after running a 13:13.46 in the 3000m, placing fourth at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Barton, who boasts a GPA of 3.75 and is studying Exercise Science, claimed Second Team Academic All-America honors. The junior from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, broke the BYU all-time heptathlon record at the Big 12 Indoor Championships, scoring 5,944 points and placing second. He qualified for Second Team honors by placing sixth in the decathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a score of 7,777 points.

Nokes, who is studying Exercise Science with a GPA of 3.75, earned a Third Team Academic All-America nod. The senior from Riverton took the BYU No. 3 all-time mark in the indoor 5000m when he ran a 13:20.76 at the John Thomas Terrier Classic. He qualified for Academic All-America honors after placing fifth in the 10,000m at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships, finishing in 29:42.14.
