PROVO, Utah — BYU head coach Holly Hasler has announced the signing of Yuyun Chen, who will join the women’s tennis program for the 2025–26 season.
Chen is a native of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. She competed during the 2024–25 season at Liberty University as a freshman, after playing previously at National Taiwan Sports University.
She currently holds a UTR of 9.32 and reached a high of 10.17 in November 2023. Chen also carries a 16.3 World Tennis Number, and achieved a career-high ITF ranking of No. 976, with a peak WTA singles ranking of No. 343 in October 2023.
As a junior competitor, Chen posted a 29–6 overall record in ITF events with an 83 % win rate, including a 23–4 record on hard courts. She captured titles at G4 Ho Chi Minh City, G4 Hong Kong, and G5 Jakarta tournaments.
Chen will join the BYU roster and enroll at the university beginning fall 2025.
