MOBILE, Ala. — Four members of the BYU football team were today named to the Panini Senior Bowl Top 300 list for the 2025 football season.
BYU preseason All-American kicker Will Ferrin, linebacker Jack Kelly, wide receiver Chase Roberts and offensive lineman Weylin Lapuaho were selected to the prestigious watch list. The Senior Bowl annually showcases the best draft prospects and is considered one of the first steps in the NFL Draft process.
A total of 300 student-athletes from 86 schools, including 43 from the Big 12 were selected to the 2025 list. The Senior Bowl has been held annually for the past 76 years in Mobile, Alabama, following the conclusion of the college football season.
Ferrin, a 6-3, 175-pound senior from Kaysville, Utah, was recently named to the Preseason All-America Second Team and Preseason All-Big 12 First Team by Phil Steele and Athlon Sports. He was also selected to the 2025 All-Big 12 Preseason Football Team by media representatives who cover the league and was named to the watch list for the Lou Groza Award for the second consecutive year.
In 2024, Ferrin set new BYU records for field goals in a season (24) and tied the school record for consecutive field goals made (16), while leading the nation with 21 field goals from 30 yards or longer, including connecting four times on attempts beyond 50 yards.
Following the 2024 football season, Ferrin was named Big 12 Co-Special Teams Player of the Year and College Football Network Big 12 Kicker of the Year. He was also selected All-Big 12 First Team by the conference coaches, AP, College Football Network and Phil Steele.
Kelly, a 6-2, 240-pound senior from Kearns, Utah, was named preseason All-Big 12 Second Team by Phil Steele and Athlon Sports. He was also recently named to the preseason watch list for the Butkus Award, honoring the nation's top linebacker, and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, awarded annually to the nation's top defensive player.
As a junior in 2024 Kelly was named College Football Network All-Big 12 First Team as well as the Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year and the Defensive Transfer of the Year. In addition, Kelly was also named Phil Steele Big 12 All-Conference Third Team and received honorable mention by the conference head coaches as the Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year.
Roberts, a native of Highland, Utah, was recently named to the Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation. The 6-4, 210-pound senior led BYU in receiving yards with 854 and receptions with 52 in 2024. He also tied for the most receiving touchdowns with four. Following the 2024 season, Roberts was named to the All-Big 12 Third Team by Phil Steele and the College Football Network.
Recently, Roberts was named to the All-Big 12 Preseason Football Team for the upcoming season. He was also recognized on the Pro Football Focus All-Big 12 Preseason Football Team and selected to the All-Big 12 Preseason First Team by both Phil Steele and Athlon Sports.
Lapuaho, a 6-4, 310-pound senior from South Jordan, Utah, was named Phil Steele and Athlon Sports 2025 Preseason All-Big 12 Third Team and is a repeat candidate for Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award. He started all 13 games for BYU at guard or tackle in 2024 and received All-Big 12 honorable mention. He helped the BYU offense average 392 yards per game with a balanced attack of 161 yards rushing and 231 yards passing. Lapuaho was also a Phil Steele Preseason All-Big 12 selection in 2024, after being named Academic All-Big 12 First Team in 2023.
This year’s edition of the Panini Senior Bowl will take place at South Alabama’s Hancock Whitney Stadium on Jan. 31, 2026, and will be broadcast live on NFL Network.
