NORMAN, Okla. – The BYU men’s golf team was named a recipient of the PLATFORM Golf All-Academic Team recognition by the Golf Coaches Association of America for the 2024-25 season.
To qualify for this award, the team must average a total cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. A GCAA-record 292 schools across six divisions earned this award.
The Cougars ended up with a 3.43 GPA as a team. Last week, Peter Kim, Tyson Shelley, and Simon Kwon were selected as Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars. They achieved this honor by individually receiving a 3.2 GPA or higher and competed in 50 percent of the team’s events.
BYU had first-place finishes as a team in the Big 12 Match Play, Arizona N.I.T., and NCAA Regional last season. The Cougars finished top-5 on the team leaderboards in nine of the 13 tournaments they competed in.
