PROVO, Utah – BYU’s Mattyn Summers-Oviatt and Cassidy Drago have been called up to the American Samoa Women’s National Football Team training camp.
The Samoan National Team will hold a training camp from September 3-8 to determine its roster for the World Cup qualifier this November.
Summers-Oviatt is a junior from Saratoga Springs, Utah, who is entering her second season with the Cougars after competing at St. Louis University during her freshman year. She played in every game last season in the center back position, tallying 1,543 minutes on the pitch.
Drago is a freshman from Winchester, California, looking for her first official minutes at BYU. After graduating high school early to play with the Cougars in the Spring, Drago saw the field in both preseason matches for BYU last week.
