PROVO, Utah – BYU head men’s basketball coach Kevin Young announced promotions and additions to his staff for the 2025-26 season on Friday afternoon.

Tim Fanning and Will Voigt have been elevated to associate head coach positions, with Justin Hamilton and Luke Klores joining the staff as graduate assistants.

“Will and Tim are both world-class coaches who help lead our coaching efforts,” Young said. “I’m excited they are both back and look forward to continue working hand-in-hand with them and the rest of our fantastic coaching staff.”

During Young’s first season in Provo, the duo was instrumental in helping the Cougars pick up five ranked wins, tied for the most in a single season in program history, and advance to the Sweet 16 for a third time in program history. Their 26 wins gave Young the most by a first-year head coach in program history.

After starting Big 12 play 2-4, BYU won 12 of its final 14 league games, including an eight-game win streak that included road wins over No. 19 Arizona and No. 10 Iowa State. Richie Saunders was named the Most Improved Player in the conference, with Egor Dëmin picked for the All-Freshman team before being selected eighth by the Brooklyn Nets in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Hamilton joins the staff as a graduate assistant after spending last year with the Golden State Warriors working as a video coordinator and player development. The 45th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft appeared in 113 games during his career in the NBA, including stints with the Charlotte Bobcats, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves and Brooklyn Nets.

“We're thrilled to add Justin to our staff,” Young added. “His background both as an NBA player, and NBA player-development coach will be a huge advantage to our players and fits in well with the vision of our program. Luke brings great experience into his role as a graduate assistant. He is a hard worker who will help elevate our program.”

Klores will be a graduate assistant for the Cougars after having spent the past four years as a student manager at Duke. He also served as a summer video intern for the New York Knicks in 2023 and 2024.
