BREMERTON, Wash. — No. 17 men’s golf head up to Golf Mountain Golf Club (Olympic Course) to compete in The Tindall on Sept. 22-23 in Bremerton, Washington.
In April 2023, the last time the Cougars set foot on the 7,179-yard course, they were victorious in the West Coast Conference Championship. BYU went on to shoot a 21-under 843 to secure the victory. Former Cougar Zac Jones, after a triumphant playoff hole, claimed the individual title with a nine-under 207 score in 54 holes.
The Cougar starting five consists of freshmen Kihei Akina and Parker Bunn, junior Peter Kim and seniors Simon Kwon and Tyson Shelley. Shelley will be making his first start of the season.
Junior Angus Klintworth, sophomore Kevin Wu and freshman Jackson Mauss will be at Golf Mountain as well competing as individuals.
Alongside BYU, the rest of the 14-team field includes California State Berkeley, Eastern Washington, Grand Canyon, Oregon, Oregon State, Pacific, San Diego, Seattle University, Saint Mary’s, UNLV, Utah, Washington State and host Washington.
The 54-hole event begins with a 36-hole day on Monday, then the final round will take place on Tuesday.
