BYU Women’s Tennis Heads to San Diego for USTA SoCal Championships

The BYU women’s tennis team will compete in the USTA SoCal Tennis Championships at the University of San Diego starting Thursday, Sept. 25, with four singles and two doubles entries.

PROVO, Utah — The BYU women’s tennis team heads to sunny San Diego this week to compete in the USTA SoCal Tennis Championships at the University of San Diego, starting Thursday, Sept. 25. The Cougars will have multiple singles and doubles entries as they aim to make a deep run in the tournament.

YuYun Chen, Karina Mohamed, Bella Lewis and Sage Bergeson will each compete in singles and doubles. Chen enters as the No. 8 seed and will receive a first-round bye in singles, while Mohamed, Lewis and Bergeson start in the Round of 64.

In doubles action, Chen teams with Bergeson and Mohamed pairs with Lewis. Both teams are set for the Round of 32, promising plenty of exciting matchups early in the tournament.

The tournament schedule includes:

Thursday: Singles Round of 64 and 32; Doubles Round of 32

Friday: Singles Round of 16; Doubles Round of 16 and Quarterfinals

Saturday: Singles Quarterfinals and Semifinals; Doubles Semifinals

Sunday: Singles and Doubles Finals
