PROVO, Utah — No. 14 BYU women's volleyball hosts Iowa State in a Saturday afternoon matchup at the Smith Fieldhouse.
The Cougars (12-1, 0-1 Big 12) look to get back on track after falling in four sets to Colorado in their Big 12 opener on Thursday night.

BYU was outmatched by the Buffaloes, dropping the opening set 25-14 before three close sets followed. The Cougars hit just .385 to CU's .328 clip, were out-blocked nine to five and out-aced, 10 to four. Despite 14 service errors by Colorado to BYU's five, the Cougars doubled up on the Buffaloes in attack errors, 28 to 14.
Alex Bower recorded her second double-double of the season, finishing with 37 assists and 10 digs. Suli Davis, who posted a team-high 14 kills, was a dig shy of her third. Brielle Kemavor joined Davis in double figures, recording 14 kills on a .435 clip. She was followed by Claire Little Chambers' 11.
Although BYU dropped its first match of the 2025 campaign, the Cougars remain in the top 15 of two statistical categories: assists per set (No. 11, 13.29) and kills per set (No. 13, 14.33). Bower also paced BYU individually with the nation's fifth-best assist total (497) and seventh-highest assist per set average (11.04).
Wrapping up week five with a matinee meeting, the Cougars and Cyclones will match up for just the fourth time in series history on Saturday.
Iowa State (11-1, 1-0 Big 12)
- The Cyclones reverse swept Utah on Thursday night to open Big 12 play.
- ISU has now won six matches in a row, with its last loss coming on Sept. 9.
- Head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch is in year 21 in Ames. She is 391-220 (.640) since 2005.
- BYU leads the all-time series, 3-0, and are 2-0 against the Cyclones in Provo. The Cougars won the lone meeting last year, a four-set win in Ames on Nov. 16, 2024.
BYU will hit the road next week for matches at Cincinnati and West Virginia. The Cougars and Bearcats are set to meet on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 6:30 p.m. EDT on ESPN+.
