Meet the Foes
This year’s Intermountain Shootout features opponents Colorado Mesa and Adams State.
Both Colorado Mesa men’s and women’s teams are coming off tough seasons, with each accumulating six losses. The men’s team took ninth in last year’s NCAA Division II Championships with 156 points. The women’s team found more success in the NCAA Division II Championships, scoring 376 points and finishing in third place.
Hailing from Alamosa, Colorado, the Adams State Grizzlies take on the Cougars for the first time since 2022. The two programs met at that year’s Intermountain Shootout, where the Cougars took first in both the men’s and women’s competitions.
Both Colorado Mesa University and Adams State University compete in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC).
BYU
The Cougars are coming off two preseason meets at the Richards Building Pool in Provo, Utah. Notable standouts from those meets include returners Max Kleinman and Katya Hulse. Additionally, freshman Ana Loveridge performed well in the Alumni and Royal vs. Navy meets.
Following this weekend’s meet, the Cougars will take a month-long meet hiatus, with their next meet scheduled for Oct. 17 at UNLV in Las Vegas, Nevada.
