Thompson crossed in 19:49.82 with teammate Noah Jenkins finishing second just six seconds later in 19:55.17. This marks Thompson’s first collegiate cross country individual victory having previously finished second overall in the Utah State Alumni Challenge last year.

“I love the leadership of Davin Thompson,” said BYU men’s cross country head coach Ed Eyestone. “He was our first guy in and then Noah Jensen.”

Identical twin brothers Jacob and Garrett Stanford finished within one second of each other, placing sixth and seventh respectively. Tayvon Kitchen rounded out BYU's scoring, placing 9th overall in his first collegaite race.

BYU won the meet in a sweep by scoring 15 points. This marks the Cougars 8th straight victory dating back to their third place finish at the 2023 NCAA National Championship.
