PROVO, Utah – BYU swim teams will be well represented this weekend at the MPSF Open Water Championship in Long Beach, California.

The meet involves distance events, including a 5K, an open 1K and a 2000-meter freestyle relay.

The men’s team will see Darwin Anderson, Tanner Nelson, Easton Mousser and Dane Weber compete in the 5K event, as well as the 2000 free relay.

On the women’s side, Victoria Schreiber will compete in the 5K, as will freshmen Melissa Turlea and Cher Patrick. The three will also compete in the 2000 free relay alongside junior Kara Martinson, who will join as the fourth member of the relay team.

Saturday will mark the Cougars’ debut at the MPSF Open Water Championship, an event that began with its inaugural championship in 2023.
