PROVO, Utah — No. 19 BYU women's volleyball heads to Lubbock for the first road match at Texas Tech in series history on Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars (15-3, 3-3 Big 12) look to bounce back after falling in five to No. 7 Arizona State on Thursday night.

After dropping the opening set to the Sun Devils, 25-22, BYU took sets two and three by scores of 25-19 and 25-17. The Cougars held a 22-20 advantage in the fourth frame, but ASU closed the set on a 5-1 run before finishing things off in the fifth, 15-13.
BYU received a pair of double-doubles from Suli Davis and Claire Little Chambers, the third time this season that a Cougar duo has done so but the first time in 2025 that both outside hitters have achieved them in the same match. Davis recorded 25 kills and 11 digs, with Little Chambers posting 14 and 10.
BYU had four others tally kills: Brielle Kemavor (nine), Sophia Callahan (eight), Abby Hoybjerg (seven) and Alex Bower (five). Bower finished with 51 assists and Kemavor led the way with five blocks. Emma Barbero added 12 digs and Lulu Ulave had 10.
The Cougars were out-hit by the Sun Devils in the match, .289 to .250 and out-blocked, 16 to eight. BYU posted nine more kills than Arizona State (68 to 59) and five more aces (nine to four), but collectively carded 10 more eerrors than ASU, ultimately the difference in the loss.
Despite the loss, BYU continues to lead the Big 12 with 13.26 assists per set, a statistic it ranks No. 10 nationally in. The Cougars are tied for the league lead in total aces, joining UCF with 120. BYU is second in Conference in aces per set (1.82), hitting percentage (.277) and kills per set (14.21). It ranks 11th in the country in kills per set.
Bower is ninth in the nation in both assists per set (10.80) and total assists (713), statistics she leads the Big 12 in. Kemavor's .386 hitting percentage ranks second in Conference, while Davis' 307.5 points and 279 kills are good for third in the league.
The Cougars get set for the eighth meeting with Texas Tech all-time, but the first in Lubbock in series history.
Texas Tech (8-10, 0-6 Big 12)
- The Red Raiders finished non-conference play 8-4, but have dropped six-consecutive matches to open Big 12 play.
- TTU has a single match week this week, justing hosting BYU on Saturday afternoon.
- Head coach Tony Graystone is in his 10th season in Lubbock. He is 138-146 (.486) at Texas Tech and 578-311 (.650) in his career.
- BYU leads the all-time series, 5-2, and has won five straight. The Cougars have never faced the Red Raiders in Lubbock.
BYU has a pair of Top 25 matches in Texas next week, facing No. 20 Baylor on Thursday and No. 11 TCU on Saturday.
