NEW ORLEANS – Jane Hedengren earned the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Co-Women’s Athlete of the Week honor, the organization announced Monday afternoon.
The freshman received the award after her performance at the Missouri Pre-Nationals last week, when she crossed in 18:42.30 to set a Gans Creek Cross Country Course record and record the fastest 6000-meter time in the NCAA this season. Hedengren won the race by more than 23 seconds.
The National Girls Gatorade Player of the Year is the first BYU women’s athlete to earn the award since Lexy Halladay-Lowry on April 28, 2025.
Hedengren receives the award alongside NC State's Grace Hartman. To view the full release, visit the USTFCCCA website.
