PROVO, Utah. — BYU women’s soccer was named a No. 5 seed for the NCAA DI Women’s Soccer Tournament, the league announced during its selection show on Monday.
After winning their first Big 12 Soccer Tournament title, the Cougars earned an automatic bid and will host the first round of the 2025 NCAA Soccer Tournament.
The Cougars will be hosting Utah State in the first round of the tournament on Friday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. MST on South Field. BYU and Utah State faced off earlier this season when the Cougars beat the Aggies 2-0 on South Field.

Going 11-6-4 in the regular season and winning the Big 12 Soccer Tournament Championship as the No. 8 seed, the Cougars finished with a TopDrawerSoccer ranking of No. 12 and an RPI ranking of No. 20.
The Cougars edged out No. 5 TCU, No. 23 Baylor and Kansas to capture their first Big 12 title, outshooting their opponents 7-2 in the tournament.
Under the direction of head coach Jennifer Rockwood, BYU has now earned a spot in the NCAA tournament 26 times in 31 years. The Cougars have been to nine Sweet Sixteens, five Elite Eights, one College Cup semifinals and one College Cup finals appearance in 2021. Last year, the Cougars earned a No. 7 seed and hosted Santa Clara in the first round, falling 1-0 on South Field.
First-round games will be played on Nov. 14-Nov. 16 at 32 different campus sites. The second- and third-round games will occur at eight campus sites, and those rounds will take place Nov. 20 and 23, with the quarterfinals on Nov. 28 or 29.
The 2025 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer College Cup is scheduled to take place Dec. 5 and 8 at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.
