LOS ANGELES — The Cougars’ dive teams finished the second day of the USC Invitational Friday afternoon.
Sophomore Martí Llop and freshman Ashton Sparks competed in their first platform events of the 2025-26 season, while Aubryn Ordyna made her first appearance in the invitational’s finals.
Men’s recap
Martí Llop ended day two of the USC Invitational with the highest finals placement of the day for the Cougars. He totaled a score of 315.50 in the platform prelims and finished finals with a score of 280.40. His degree of difficulty totaled 17.20, earning him an eighth-place finish.
Sparks ended the platform finals in 12th place after a preliminary score of 257.40 and a finals score of 195.20. His degree of difficulty totaled 16.70 in his first-ever collegiate platform event.
The men’s dive team will compete Saturday on the final day of the USC Invitational in the 1-meter event.
Women’s recap
Sophia DeBergh led the women’s dive team in the 3-meter event as she ended finals in 12th place. DeBergh ended prelims with a score of 227.30 and improved on that score in finals with a 231.50. Her degree of difficulty totaled 15.50.
Ordyna made her first finals appearance at the USC Invitational after she finished with a score of 213.20 in prelims. In finals, she totaled a score of 208.10 on a 15.60 degree of difficulty, placing her 18th.
The women’s dive team continues into Saturday, competing in the platform event.
