PROVO, Utah — BYU stayed at No. 11 in the fourth release of the 2025 College Football Playoff rankings revealed Tuesday by the CFP selection committee.

The Cougars (10-1, 7-1 Big 12) achieved the 20th 10-win season in school history on Saturday, defeating Cincinnati on the road 26-14 to accomplish the feat for the fourth time under head coach Kalani Sitake. BYU has had back-to-back 10-win campaigns under Sitake in 2025 and 2024 and 2021 and 2020.

BYU has been ranked No. 7, No. 12, No. 11 and No. 11 in the four CFP rankings this season. During the first year of the 12-team playoff last season, the Cougars were ranked in all six CFP rankings released, receiving rankings of No. 9, No. 6, No. 14, No. 19, No. 18 and No. 17.

BYU also received a No. 11 ranking for the second consecutive week in both The Associated Press Top 25 and AFCA Coaches Poll released on Sunday.

CFP Top 25
The top five teams in the CFP rankings remained the same this week with Ohio State (11-0) at No. 1, followed by No. 2 Indiana (11-0), No. 3 Texas A&M (11-0), No. 4 Georgia (10-1) and No. 5 Texas Tech (10-1). Oregon (10-1) moved up one spot to No. 6, swapping places with Ole Miss (10-1), who dropped to No. 7. Oklahoma (8-2) is No. 8, followed by Notre Dame (9-2) at N. 9 and Alabama (9-2) at No. 10 just ahead of BYU.

After the Cougars at No. 11, the rest of the top 25 includes No. 12 Miami (9-2), No. 13 Utah (9-2), No. 14 Vanderbilt (9-2), No. 15 Michigan (9-2), No. 16 Texas (8-3), No. 17 USC (8-3), No. 18 Virginia (9-2), No. 19 Tennessee (8-3), No. 20 Arizona State (8-3), No. 21 SMU (8-3), No. 22 Pittsburgh (8-3), No. 23 Georgia Tech (9-2), No. 24 Tulane (9-2) and No. 25 Arizona (8-3).

BYU has wins this year over No. 13 Utah and No. 25 Arizona with its lone loss on the road at No. 5 Texas Tech. The road to the 10 wins has been forged with FBS standard-setting play away from Provo as the Cougars are the only school in the country with four road wins over bowl-eligble teams (East Carolina, 7-4; Arizona, 8-3; Iowa State, 7-4; Cincinnati, 7-4).

Overall, this week's CFP rankings included eight teams from the SEC, five each from the Big 12, BIg Ten and ACC and one each from the American and FBS Independents.

Big 12
The Big 12 has five teams in the CFP rankings for the second straight week, with Texas Tech at No. 5, BYU at No. 11, Utah at No. 13, Arizona State up five spots to No. 20 and Arizona entering the rankings at No. 25. The Wildcats joined the rankings as Houston (8-3) fell out after losing to TCU.

The upcoming final weekend of the Big 12 Championship race features Texas Tech (7-1) and BYU (7-1) as teams with only one league defeat, followed by two two-loss teams in reigning league champion Arizona State (6-2) and Utah (6-2). BYU and Texas Tech can claim their tickets in the Dec. 6 Big 12 Championship game with wins this week. Utah and ASU both still have a chance to earn a place in the title game pending various tiebreakers if the results of this weekend's games create ties for a berth in the championship by two or more teams at 7-2 in the final standings.
