PROVO, UT — Isaac Hedengren, Logan Hubler, Connor Saunders and Jaden Roskelley each marked first place finishes on day two of the BYU December Invitational Thursday afternoon at the Smith Fieldhouse.

Roskelley claimed first place in the heptathlon with his 5,619 points to set the No. 5 all-time program record. The junior from Arlington, Washington won the 60m hurdles coming across the line in a personal-best 8.19 seconds. Roskelley posted a personal best 2:56.22 in the 1000m and 13-1.5 in the pole vault. Roskelley boosted his personal best in the heptathalon by nearly 600 points and beat out second place Javin Richards of Utah State by almost 100 points.

"Jaden looked great!" head coach Ed Eyestone said, "he's one of those guys that we fully expect to come through."

"Jaden put together a very solid performance in his heptathlon over the last two days." assistant coach Tiffany Hogan said, "He improved his heptathlon personal best dramatically! Jaden was able to improve on a lot of his individual event personal bests. And we are both excited with his progress because we know how much more he’s capable of doing."

Hedengren claimed a first place finish in the mile coming across the line in 4:03.38. The Provo native finished the race just under five seconds ahead of second place Silas Kiplagat of UVU.

"What about Isaac Hedengren!" Eyestone said, "He was looking to break four minutes at altitude, which is not an easy thing, and ran one of the all-time fastest times at altitude."

Hubler led the hurdles crew taking first in the 60m hurdles in a time of 7.94 seconds, the only athlete to break eight seconds at the meet. The senior from San Tan Valley, Arizona posted a time of 7.89 seconds in the prelims, which is just 0.01 seconds shy of a personal record. Hubler also finished third in the 300m, crossing in 33.86. 

Hubler also competed in the 4x400m relay with Garrett Copelin, Jonah Heimuli and Brayden Dahl, helping the squad take first in 3:15.59.

Saunders led the jumpers, winning the high jump with a mark of 6-8.25. Teammate Hayden Gribble took second at 6-6.25.

Dahl, a junior from Gilbert, Arizona, finished second in the 300 meters in 33.85 seconds, just 0.01 ahead of Hubler.

Heimuli, a sophomore from Alpine, won the 600-yard run in 1:09.62.
