LEXINGTON, Ky. — BYU women's volleyball outside hitter Suli Davis and middle blocker Brielle Kemavor were both received American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America awards, the organization announced on Wednesday morning.
Davis was honored as a Second Team All-American, while Kemavor earned an Honorable Mention All-American nod.
Davis is the Cougars' first Second Team All-American since 2018. The AVCA West Region Freshman of the Year, AVCA All-West Region First Team, Big 12 Freshman of the Year, All-Big 12 First Team and Big 12 All-Rookie Team honoree, broke BYU's freshman kill records this season, finishing with 541 on the year.
The Euless, Texas native was the leading freshman nationally in both total kills and kills per set (4.55), and was also second in the Big 12 in both total kills and points. She had a team-high 10 double-doubles and led the Cougars with 30 double-digit kill matches, good for third-most in the BYU rally-scoring era.
Kemavor was also an All-West Region and All-Big 12 First Team honoree. She led the Big 12 with a .372 hitting percentage, had the fourth-most blocks in the conference, at 138, and the third-most kills on the team, at 253.
A Bristow, Virginia product, Kemavor posted team highs in blocks in 19 of the Cougars' 31 matches, including 15 of their last 18 contests. She also had nine double-digit kills matches, with five in the last seven games.
This is the 15th-straight season that BYU has received at least one All-America citation. The Cougars have had 41 different student-athletes earn 118 citations in program history.
