WACO, Texas — Despite losing the doubles point, the No. 68 Cougars rallied in the round of singles play, taking the first three singles matches before clinching a 4-2 victory with Tan's three-set win.

BYU lost 4-3 to Kansas State earlier this season, aided by a default singles win for the Wildcats after Chelsea Bluestein suffered an injury. Tonight, Bluestein took the second singles point for the Cougars in two sets.

Kansas State took the doubles point after winning two-straight doubles matches. Huang and Tan left their match unfinished, down 5-4.

Levelston took the first point for BYU after winning her first set 6-0 and securing a 6-4 second-set victory. Bluestein followed suit with a two-set win, giving the Cougars a 2-1 overall lead.

After a 7-6 tiebreak win in the first set, Huang carried that momentum to win 6-1 in the second and put BYU up 3-1.

Kovick lost her first set 6-4 but came back to win 7-5 in the second. She lost the third set 6-1, but the Cougars maintained their lead 3-2.

Tan won the first set 7-5 after being down 1-4, then lost the second set 6-3. She fought to gain a 5-3 lead in the third set and ultimately won 6-4, sealing BYU's 4-2 victory.

Smith came back from a 6-0 first-set loss and won her second-set tiebreak 7-5. She was down 6-5 in the third but broke her opponent to take the set to another tiebreak. Smith left her match unfinished in the tiebreak, up 3-2.
