PROVO, Utah — Senior outside hitter Miks Ramanis was named Offensive Player of the Week by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, the conference announced on Monday evening.
Ramanis led the Cougars in kills in a sweep over No. 7 Pepperdine. He averaged 4.00 kills per set and hit .453 on 53 swings with 32 kills. His 18 kills and three aces were a season-high and match-high in BYU’s last game of the regular season on Saturday.
"BYU means so much to me, and I couldn't have imagined being anywhere else," said Ramanis following Saturday's match. "I've never had more fun on a team. I am very thankful to this university and everything it has given me. I am just so appreciative. They took a chance on me, and I'd like to think I worked hard and I got it."
The three aces from Saturday's match cemented Ramanis in eighth place all-time in the BYU men’s volleyball rally scoring era for career aces, with 83.
Ramanis captured one of the conference's final weekly honors of the year ahead of the 2025 MPSF Tournament. The Cougars are slated to face the winner of the No. 6 Stanford vs. No. 7 Menlo match in the second round of the tournament on Wednesday, April 23 at 8 p.m. PT. BYU will face the winner in the quarterfinals on Thursday, April 24 at 8 p.m. PT, streaming live on Big10+.
This is Ramanis' second weekly honor of his career, and BYU's fourth of the season.
