IRVING, Texas — After earning a 196.300 against Boise State, BYU gymnasts Kylie Eaquinto and Brynlee Andersen-Broekman earned Big 12 weekly awards, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. 

Kylie Eaquinto was named Gymnast of the Week and Brynlee Andersen-Broekman was named Event Specialist of the Week.

The Cougars are coming off their season-high 196.300 win against Boise State in the Marriott Center Friday night. BYU had season-highs on beam (49.125) and floor (49.275), besting its previous team high by 0.575.

Earning her first Big 12 weekly award of the season, Eaquinto competed on three events, securing three scores above 9.8. She notched a 9.8 on vault, a new career high on bars with a 9.9 and closed out the competition with another 9.9 on floor, tying a season-high. She took home the event title for bars and shared the top spot on podium for her floor routine with teammates Andersen-Broekman and Deb Silva.

Andersen-Broekman competed on both beam and floor, scoring a season-high 9.925 on beam to take home the event title for the apparatus. She matched Eaquinto’s score on floor with a 9.9, tying her career high for the event.
