PHILADELPHIA – Behind strong performances from Paje Rasmussen, Zoey Bonds and the 4x400-meter relay squad, BYU set four meet records on the final day of the Penn Elite Invitational on Saturday at the Ott Center.

For the second straight meet, Rasmussen broke multiple meet records. The Draper, Utah native added two more Saturday, matching her career-best 7.35 in the 60m. She also set a meet record in the 200m with a time of 23.71, moving the junior to No. 3 on BYU’s all-time indoor list, just ahead of teammate Sami Oblad’s 23.72.

“I have the best team ever,” Rasmussen said. “I feel super lucky to be surrounded by the best people. It all starts in practice. We are competitive, and it prepares us to be aggressive on the track. This is the fiercest team we’ve had since I’ve been at BYU, and it’s paying off for all of us. We love each other, we push each other and we celebrate each other’s wins. I could not be in a better place for my education and my track career.”

Rasmussen added another meet record alongside teammates Kali McEuen, Mayci Taylor and Marianne Barber in the 4x400m relay. The quartet posted a 3:37.64, led by Barber’s 52.63 anchor leg.

In the 60m hurdles preliminaries, Bonds set a new meet record with her 8.40. Tia Brown also qualified for the final and finished fifth.

Field events were led by Cailee Faulkner in the pole vault, where she cleared 4.06m/13-3.75 to win the event for the second straight meet.

Three Cougars placed inside the top 10 of the shot put. Kaiah Fisher finished fifth with an indoor career-best 14.61m/47-11.25. Lia Pili took eighth with a throw of 14.18m/46-6.25, while Kat Beachler placed 10th at 13.67m/44-10.25.
