IRVING, Texas – BYU placed 35 football student-athletes on the Big 12 Conference Fall Academic Team, the conference announced Thursday.
The Big 12 recognized 1,093 student-athletes on the 2025 Fall Academic Team for their academic achievements in fall sports, including men’s and women’s cross country, football, women’s soccer and women’s volleyball. BYU totaled 82 honorees across the five sports.
To qualify for the Fall Academic Team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.20 GPA or higher, either cumulative or over the two previous semesters, and must have participated in 20 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen are not eligible, while transfers in their first year of academic residence are eligible. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
BYU players earning a place on the 2025 team include Max Alford, Talan Alfrey, Bear Bachmeier, Tiger Bachmeier, Mory Bamba, Joe Brown, Kaden Chidester, Raider Damuni, Cannon DeVries, Kevin Doe, Ethan Erickson, Will Ferrin, Reggie Frischknecht, Andrew Gentry, Jacob Griffin, Garrison Grimes, Cody Hagen, McCae Hillstead, Isaiah Jatta, Ace Kaufusi, Justin Kirkland, Logan Lutui, Orion Maile-Kaufusi, Bruce Mitchell, Noah Moeaki, Enoch Nawahine, Keayen Nead, Trevor Pay, Anisi Purcell, Kyle Sfarcioc, Sam Vander Haar, Payton VanSteenkiste, Tanner Wall, Pierson Watson and Will Zundel.
