PROVO, Utah — BYU swim and dive is set to compete against Denver this weekend as the second half of the season ramps up.

The BYU and Denver men’s programs meet for the 12th time this weekend, with BYU leading 6-5 in the series. Their last meeting occurred in January 2025, where the Cougars won 193-107.
The women’s programs meet for the 13th time, with BYU trailing 7-5 in the series. Their last meeting also occurred in January 2025, where the Cougars earned a 158-142 victory.
Meet the Foes
The Denver men’s team is currently 4-2 on the season, with its most recent meet on Jan. 2, where it beat Colorado School of Mines 190-49. The women’s program also competed on Jan. 2, where it won 189-47, moving it to 3-5 on the year.
The Pioneers won all 26 events they competed in against the Colorado School of Mines.
Each diving event also resulted in a Pioneer diver earning a score eligible for the NCAA zone cut.
Both Denver men’s and women’s teams won the 2025 Summit League Championship, the 11th straight conference title for the men’s program and 12th straight for the women’s.
BYU
BYU is coming off competition in Honolulu against Hawai'i, where the men’s team saw a 167-133 victory while the women suffered a 163-136 loss.
The Cougars set five Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex records, including two by senior Tyler Edlefsen in the 200 breaststroke and 200 individual medley.
Sophomore Sarah Eliason also set a new BYU record in the 50 butterfly, finishing at 24.49.
Following this weekend’s dual meet, BYU will travel to Tempe, Ariz., for the Big 12’s Duel in the West on Jan. 16 and 17.
