LOGAN, Utah – The Cougars earned three career bests at the Roman Ruiz Speed and Power Invitational in the Roman Ruiz Speed and Power Invitational on Saturday at Stan Laub Indoor Training Center.

Paje Rasmussen and Cambria Hasler advanced to the finals in the 60-meter dash, where they both set career bests. Rasmussen finished second to BYU alum Jaslyn Gardner, with her 7.32 marking a new personal record while keeping her No. 2 on the school’s all-time list. Her time also ties for the third-fastest in the Big 12 this season. Hasler’s 7.58 earned her fifth place.

Kaiah Fisher earned second place in the 25-person shot put with a toss of 14.02m/46-0. Jayda Lee followed in seventh at 12.52m/41-1, while Sarena Mackley rounded out the Cougars’ efforts with an 11th-place finish.

Another career best came in the 60m hurdles, where Kali McEuen clocked 8.53 to finish third.

Cailee Faulkner and Abbie Scott placed first and third in the pole vault, clearing 4.04m/13-3 and 3.94m/12-11, respectively.

Friday’s events were highlighted by a high jump victory from Mae Johnson, who cleared 1.75m/5-8.75 to secure her third win of the season.

Lia Katoa earned her third podium finish of the season in the weight throw, placing third with a mark of 17.30m/56-9.25. Jayda Lee finished just behind her in fifth with a throw of 17.15m/56-3.25.

The Cougars will take two weeks off before returning for another split weekend. The distance crew heads back to Boston for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at the Track & Tennis Center, while the sprinters, jumpers and throwers travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico, for the Don Kirby Invitational at the Albuquerque Convention Center, both Feb. 13-14.
