PROVO, Utah — Men’s golf will prepare to tee off for the 49th annual John A. Burns Intercollegiate in Lihue, Hawaii at Ocean Course at Hokuala Feb. 12-14.

The Cougars will compete in this event for the fifth consecutive season. Last year, BYU took eighth place in this tournament. 

BYU is coming off a tie with Saint Mary’s for fourth place at the Arizona N.I.T. at 20-under par. Kihei Akina finished tied for 5th in that one, which gave him his second-career top-5 finish.

The Cougars will participate in a 19-team field that includes: UTEP, Utah, San Diego State, USF, Saint Mary’s, Mizzou, Cal, Miami (Ohio), Fresno State, LMU, New Mexico, Grand Canyon, Santa Clara, Texas A&M, Long Beach State, Washington State, UNLV and host Hawaii. 

Akina, Simon Kwon, Tyson Shelley, Peter Kim and Jackson Mauss will be the 5-man lineup in Hawaii. Freshman Parker Bunn will participate as an individual.
