NEW ORLEANS - Riley Chamberlain was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Women's Athlete of the Week, the organization announced Monday afternoon.

Chamberlain earned the honor after clocking the NCAA’s top time in the indoor mile, crossing the line in 4:20.61 to break the previous record by 2.85 seconds. Chamberlain also lowered her previous school record by 5.58 seconds in her first mile of the season. The senior finished second to New Balance professional Elle St. Pierre.

The award marks Chamberlain’s first career National Athlete of the Week honor. BYU is the first school to earn two weekly awards this season, joining Jane Hedengren’s weekly honor on Dec. 8, 2025.
