MORGANTOWN, W.V. — No. 24 BYU gymnastics closes its Big 12 slate with a 4-2 record following a 195.975-195.275 win against West Virginia in Hope Coliseum Friday night.

BYU gymnasts took home the top spot on podium in three of the four events tonight. Deb Silva’s career high 9.875 led on bars and Kylie Eaquinto’s 9.875 led on floor. Alilah Alvarado, Scarlett Sonnenberg and Brynlee Andersen-Broekman tied for the top spot on beam with three scores of 9.850.

The Cougars opened their final Big 12 dual meet of the season on the uneven bars. Silva led BYU with a career-high 9.875, followed by a 9.800 from senior Eaquinto. Ava Jorgensen added a 9.850 and Alvarado scored a 9.800 to close the rotation.

BYU totaled a 49.075 on bars to take an early lead over West Virginia, which posted a 48.875 on vault.

BYU opened its vault rotation with back-to-back 9.750's from Daisy Stephenson and Mya Kirkham. After a fall in the third spot, Silva recorded a 9.825 for the second consecutive week. Eaquinto anchored the lineup with a 9.775, giving BYU a 48.875 on vault.

The Cougars extended their lead at the halfway point, 97.900-97.675.

Coming off its highest floor total since 2022, BYU again delivered in the third rotation. Freshman Scarlett Sonnenberg opened with a 9.800 in the leadoff spot. Stephenson and Brynlee Andersen-Broekman followed with matching 9.850s. Silva added a 9.825 before Eaquinto scored a 9.875. Competing on floor for just the second time this season, Kirkham closed the rotation with a career-high 9.850.

The Cougars totaled a 49.250 on floor and extended their lead to 147.150-146.225 heading into the final rotation.

BYU’s beam rotation featured three 9.850s from Sonnenberg, Alvarado and Andersen-Broekman. The Cougars earned a beam score of 48.825 to close out the competition just shy of a 196, scoring a 195.975 on the road.
