PROVO, Utah — No. 57 BYU men's tennis returns home Thursday evening to host No. 17 Arizona at 4:30 p.m. MST. The match will be BYU’s first time playing on the outdoor courts this season and will mark Arizona’s first trip to Provo in more than 25 years.
The Cougars are coming off the Boise State Spring Invitational, where they finished second after falling 4–2 to Boise State in the final. The result moved BYU’s overall record to 12–2.
BYU has thrived in singles play this season, posting a 50–25 overall record. Freshman Caden Hasler is 7–1, sophomore Hardy Owen is 6–1, and junior Tygen Goldammer is 12–1 after his undefeated streak was snapped on the Idaho road trip.
In doubles, the Cougars have used eight different pairings this season. The most successful duo has been TJ Wells and Goldammer, who hold a 9–2 record together.
This is BYU’s third season as a member of the Big 12, where the Cougars have posted a 1–14 record against conference opponents over the previous two seasons. Currently, five Big 12 teams are ranked inside the top 20.

The Wildcats are led by senior Jay Friend, who is ranked No. 3 in the ITA national singles rankings and is coming off his fifth Big 12 Player of the Week award.
