Taylor earns fifth-straight USTFCCCA Mountain Region Women's Assistant Coach of the Year honor

Associate director of track & field Diljeet Taylor was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Mountain Region Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year following the indoor season, the organization announced Thursday.

NEW ORLEANS — Associate director of track & field Diljeet Taylor was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Mountain Region Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year following the indoor season, the organization announced Thursday.

Taylor coached Jane Hedengren to two indoor NCAA titles in the 3000m and 5000m. In addition to Hedengren’s first-team All-America honors, Taylor helped coach Riley Chamberlain, Jenna Hutchins, Taylor Rohatinsky, Sami Oblad, Tessa Buswell and Jacey Harkins-Farmer to a combined four First Team All-America honors and two Second Team All-America honors.

She also guided Hedengren and Chamberlain to NCAA records in the 5000m and mile, respectively. Hedengren clocked a 14:44.79, while Chamberlain ran 4:20.61.

Taylor led the Cougars to a fifth-place finish at the NCAA National Championships, the program’s best indoor finish since 2009, scoring 27 points.

This marks Taylor’s fifth consecutive time receiving the award and the sixth of her career at BYU. She previously won the honor in 2017, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.
