IRVING, Texas — BYU guard Delaney Gibb was named to the Big 12 Starting Five for the second-consecutive week, the Conference announced on Monday afternoon.

Monday's award marks Gibb's third selection to the Big 12 Starting Five this season, after the sophomore turned in back-to-back 20-point performances, including an average of 18.5 fourth-quarter points on the week.

The sophomore standout led BYU with 25 points, 6.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks to lead the Cougars to a pair of wins. The Cougars first handed Arizona State just its second home loss of the season, before getting revenge over Colorado on senior day to finish ninth in the Big 12, the highest finish since entering the league in 2023.

In the win over Arizona State, Gibb scored a game-high 24 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished six assists. She also contributed two blocks and two second-half steals in the comeback win over the Sun Devils. Against the Buffs, native of Raymond, Alberta, Canada, again led the game in scoring with 26 points. Gibb also dished out seven dimes, collected six rebounds, three coming on the offensive glass, with a steal and a block.

Her back-to-back 20+ point performances this week marked her third and fourth straight games with 20 or more points. In those four games, Gibb is averaging 26.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.3 blocks while knocking down 3.0 3-point field goals per game.

Of her 26.5 points, Gibb is making plays for her team when it matters most. She is averaging 19.8 points in the second half of the last four games. She went for 18 points after halftime, along with five dimes, two steals and a block in the second half to help the Cougars erase a 13-point halftime deficit at Arizona State. She then posted 19 points, three rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block to close out a 13-point win over the Buffaloes.

Gibb and No. 9-seed Cougars next head to Kansas City, Missouri, to take on No. 16 Houston in the opening round of the 2026 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Tournament on Wednesday, March 4. Tip-off is set for 12:30 p.m. MT with the game streamed on ESPN+ and broadcast live on BYU Radio 107.9, byuradio.org and the BYU Radio App.
