ST. GEORGE, Utah – Kaiah Fisher, Paje Rasmussen and Mayci Taylor each posted a top-10 program mark at Greater Zion Stadium in the Utah Tech Invitational on Saturday.

Kaiah Fisher posted her first top-10 performance at BYU, earning the No. 5 spot in the discus with her 54.35m/178-3, which set a meet record and was nine meters ahead of the rest of the competition. Jayda Lee finished second to Fisher with her toss of 45.35m/148-9.

"Kaiah had an excellent opening throw, surpassing her previous personal best from Stanford by a meter," throws coach Nik Arrhenius said. "She also had several long throws that barely reached the mark, making it exciting to anticipate her performance throughout the rest of the season. Nevertheless, I am highly pleased with her progress considering it was the first meet of the year."

Paje Rasmussen earned a spot on the 400-meter program’s top-10 list, posting a top-10 time to win the event with 54.06, also setting a meet record. Kali McEuen took second with 54.90.

Mayci Taylor finished second in the 400m hurdles to earn her second spot on BYU’s outdoor program top-10 list as she clocked a 58.47.

Three Cougars finished in the top five of the shot put, with Lia Pili leading the competition with her 14.36m/47-1.5, which marked a career best. Fisher took second in the event with her 14.29m/46-10.75 and Kat Beachler took fourth with 13.92m/45-8.

Mae Johnson won the high jump while setting a meet record with her 1.71m/5-7.25. Paired with her indoor season performances, this is the freshman’s fourth win in the event.

Tia Brown and Berklie Ahlander finished third and sixth in their first attempts at the 100m hurdles. Brown clocked a 14.14 and Ahlander ran a 14.60. Cambria Hasler took fifth in the 100m, crossing in 12.07.
