PROVO, Utah — Brinley Cannon and Lara Rohkohl received College Sports Communicators Academic All-District designations, the organization announced on Tuesday morning.

The 2026 Academic All-District basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes the basketball honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by the CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on Tuesday, April 14.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must be of a sophomore academic standing or higher with a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and be a starter or key reserve for their team.

Rohkohl came to BYU for her final year of college basketball and made an immediate impact for the Cougars, averaging 8.1 points on 63.3 percent shooting, 6.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game. The senior posted 14 games in double figures with BYU winning all 14 games.

The 6-foot-3 senior didn’t have a single signature performance this season; she had multiple game-altering performances for the Cougars this season. The native of Hanover, Germany, turned in a 15-point, eight-rebound performance in a win over No. 19 Texas Tech on January 21, which also included two blocks, two assists and a steal. A couple of weeks later, Rohkohl again went 6-for-9 from the floor for 15 points to go along with nine rebounds, two steals and a block as BYU knocked off Audi Crooks and the Iowa State Cyclones.

Rohkohl then recorded a season-high six blocks, 11 points, five boards and an assist as BYU took down Utah for the second time this season, 86-74 in Salt Lake City. In the next game, she picked up right where she left off with 11 points and 10 rebounds to record her second double-double of the year as the Cougars handed Arizona State just their second home loss of the season. She also sent away two ASU shots and swiped a steal in the win.

In the first and second rounds of the Big 12 Tournament, Rohkohl turned in a 15-point, eight-rebound, three-assist, two-block performance in the win over Houston before posting 12 points, eight rebounds and an assist to take down Utah for a third and final time this season.

Cannon started all 35 games for the Cougars in 2025-26 and averaged 7.5 points on 43.2 percent shooting and 36.6 percent from deep. The sophomore is the second-leading rebounder among guards for BYU at 4.8 rebounds per game, while also recording 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

The marquee performance for Cannon this season came in the first of three meetings against rival Utah as the 6-foot-1 guard scored a career-high 21 points in the win. Cannon went 6-for-9 from behind the arc with four rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks as BYU took down the Utes for the first of three wins this season.

The native of Shelley, Idaho, scored in double figures 11 times this season, with BYU going 9-2 in such games. Cannon also recorded multiple steals in 16 games with a 13-3 record when doing so, and had 16 games with five or more rebounds, in which the Cougars hold a 12-4 mark.

Cannon is majoring in Family Life and Human Development and holds a 3.87 GPA through her sophomore year.
