NORMAN, Okla. — BYU men’s golf slotted at No. 23 in the updated Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coaches Poll on Friday.

The Cougars have appeared in five of the six rankings this season. After receiving 21 votes and being the third team left out of the March 6th poll, BYU received 80 votes to put itself back inside the top-25. The Cougars placed No. 13 in the preseason, then No. 17, No. 12 and No. 25 in each ranking during the fall portion of the season.

BYU was able to re-enter the poll due to its performance at the R.E. Lamkin and Bridgestone Collegiate Invitationals since the previous ranking. In both events, Kihei Akina captured the individual title. The team finished third at the R.E. Lamkin and secured first-place at the Bridgestone.

Four other Big 12 schools made an appearance in the latest poll. Oklahoma State (6), Texas Tech (7), Arizona State (9) and Arizona (20) were voted into the top-25, while Utah received one vote.
